Microsoft Publisher- Using pubilisher gives you a basic idea of how to edit a picture. However it is extremely restricting for majority of editing styles.
Photoshop/Fireworks/Gimp-You have more freedom with editing. You can use tons of effects to give you a professional touch to your work. Yet if you don’t know how to use them you could struggle due to the software being complicated.
Dafont.com- Using this site has many benefits. When you have your initial style for your work, you then know which kind of font you would like. The only draw back to this is the process is searching for the font itself. It could take seconds or it could take half an hour.
Adobe Premier- Using the Adobe Premier was the biggest help for my coursework. There are many effects that can be used on Premier and give the whole video a professional touch. It was simple to use for me due to know the layout of phtoshop. The tools are quite similar. The down side is the lenght of time to edit each clip. Due to being the first video i have edited i wasn’t entially sure of the most effective effects to use.
Digital Magazines- Use the online magazines only helped me for a basic layout for my magazine advert. Other than that they did not benefit me much.
iTunes and Youtube- Using both of these thhings helped. iTunes was used so i had a constant copy of the song and youtube to watch the music video so it could help me with ideas for my own video.
Video Camera- Having my own video camera helped me becuase i could film when i had a free period at school. It also allwoed me to take picture on my video camera. The quality was good. The only down sidewas that there is a HD and a VGA setting on my camera. I shot most clips in HD yet two or three were filmed in VGA giving them parts i filmed a lower quality effect.
Computer- The computer aspect of it all was the overall biggest help. Without the computer there would have been no-way of me completing the overall product . Thank you PC

The planning for my music video was a long process. My base idea was to have a key character. The song is about young adults being antisocial yet having fun. I wanted to capture the same convention of the original video in my video. I thought of having at least two characters in my video yet one story line. I eventually did choose to have one story line but it had three characters. In my next step I started to plan the plot.

Filming my music video took some time. First of all I got my three characters one main and two supporting, three main locations and the props.
I started my video with a car driving away which incidentally was the first thing I filmed. I used a stationary mid-shot. This shot was used to open my video due to it being not wholly part of the story. It enabled me to then edit in the track, artist and album name and not take away any important bits of the video. Throughout my music video there is a basic theme. Anti-social Behaviour (at a low level). My video includes small scale fights, smoking and truanting off school. They are all linked together by them all being frowned upon by the law. I have captured the “rebel” side of all the characters which also relates to the original Jamie T video.
I have edited my music video using Adobe Premier. At first I found it difficult to edit the video due to lack of knowledge of the software but as I progressed I found that it became easier to use. I have learnt how to cut clips, use all effects (although I have only used black and white in my music video) and paste clips together. These processes have enabled me to now work on further projects.

2.Attitude. The attitude portrayed by the actors in my video is quite blatent. They are smoking and fighting. These aspects differ from the original by my characters not all getting along with each other. The style in which the main character in my video fights shows that he is out to pick on any-one and may not have been brought up as well as others, which take me to …
3. Setting. One setting in my video is the school in which the main character has is first “fight”. He then runs from the action and is then out of school, so he is truanting. There are various settings in my video and they are all run down “council like” areas. The smoking kind-of ties in with all of this. Parents who don’t look after their kids ultimately have brought up bad children.
Overall I think that my final product was a success. The feedback I have received was good and I am happy with my work. If I had restarted the whole of the video again I think that the only thing I would change is the settings and characters. I think that the clothing used could have differed slightly as could the settings.
For my advert of my album i had many ideas of what to do. All relating to christmas.

I think that at the start of the film it was a slow starting film. It is in black and white so that didn’t attract me as much as a coloured film.The story line then picked up when you find out he has more than one women on the go which isn’t really expected of Billy’s sort of character. Towards the end when Billy leaves the train and decieds not to go to London I felt sorry for him because he isn’t sure of what to do with his life. I thought overall watching the whole film, it was quite good. 7/10
Preparation: To prepare for my album cover i had to first decide a song to have initial ideas for the cover. I thought of several songs to use;
Inculding : Snow Patrol- Run Just Jack- The Day I Died Jamie T- Sticks and Stones Our House is Dadless- KiD BRiTiSH
In the end i chose Jamie T -Sticks and Stones. The reason for this was that it is my favourite song and furthermore i thought that the albumcover would be easier to make with my friends that like the same style music. I also took the music video into account. I thought of different style areas to take the pictures
I took three pictures at seven o’clock in the morning just to get the light in the right place for the setting. The light hits the model on the left of his back. Just to make the back of the model bright.
Setting: The setting as seen in these pictures is in a field near my house. I chose this setting because using anything other than the the original skyline would look out of place. So i am using the field mailny for a comedy effect.
I thought that this would be benificial so i can photo shop different images into the skyline to make the model look as though he is looking at a different image.
Editing: I have had many ideas so far e.g twin towers for a controversial effect, a stormy sky with lightning for the “WOW” factor. I have also thought of putting the model picture in a t.v screen and have him looking at Mount Rushmore. I tried all of these ideas but they didn’t feel right. I ended up choosing the Hollywood sign. To do this I had to take out the sky in my original picture using photoshop. I then chose a picture from the internet of the Hollywood sign. I then erased the sign itself and got a font from the internet again. The font is exactly like the Hollywood font and is called Hollywood (dafont.com), so I thought that it looks just like the real thing, just with it saying Plutonium instead of Hollywood. Plutonium is the album cover name which i thought of when reading an article online and Yosemite Creek (font:Hotel Coral Essex- Dafont.com) is then name of my band which i thought of when i was reading about Yosemite Creek which is in California and is placed carefully on the back of my model on my album front cover.
Overall i think that my album cover is decent and the idea was a long and slow process but worth it. I have had great contructive feedback from a various audience. With that feedback, I would say that if i was to repeat the process of doing my album cover i would have made the colours more vibrant. This would have streghthened my picture by making it more eye catching.
